Elvin Jones Gravely Ill

A report compiled by Len Dobbin from accounts posted online by people who had seen drummer Elvin Jones play at Yoshi's in San Francisco in April 2004, where he was visibly very ill.

According to those accounts, his wife told the audience that he had been in hospital for three months and wished to spend his last moments behind the drums, and asked the audience to pray during the final number, Dear Lord.
