JazzTrenzz: Sofia Laiti, “You Don’t Know Me”

Originally published on eJazzNews · · By Karl Stober · CD Reviews

Karl Stober reviewed You Don't Know Me by Finnish singer Sofia Laiti, an album of standards such as I'm in the Mood for Love, The Way We Were, I'll Never Smile Again and La Vie en Rose.

Laiti was accompanied by tenor saxophonist Houston Person, pianist Larry Ham, bassist Leon Dorsey and drummer Vince Ector. Stober praised the depth of her voice and her own phrasing of the familiar material.
